A man was reading his morning newspaper. To his utter surprise and horror, he learned his name in the obituary column. The paper had mistakenly reported the death of the wrong person. He was shocked to read the news headline about his death. When he regained his composure, he read it what people had said about him. The obituary included sentences like the ‘Dynamite king dies ‘”He was the merchant of death,’ He was the inventor of dynamite ‘He asked himself a question, Was he a merchant of death? ‘And is this way I am going to be remembered ?’He decided to change. From that day on, he started working toward world peace. His name was Alfred Nobel, and he is remembered by the great Nobel prize, the greatest of all the prizes Moral-It is never late to start over The Emperor and a Beggar- There lived a beggar procuring alms and rice daily from passersby. Most of the days he was unable to gain enough food for a meal. At night, he slept under the sky with only a rag to cover him. His life was so miserable, but he had grown used to it over the many years. One day, he heard that the emperor was coming to town for a visit .’I am sure the generous emperor will see my deplorable condition and grant a generous gift ., he thought. He made plans to seat himself along the route the emperor will be traversing, so that he may not be unnoticed. The royal caravan approached and stopped right in front of him. While the beggar had expected no more than a little gift ,,he was speechless when the cavalcade halted beside him and the emperor shook the poor man’s hand, touched him gently and looked into his eyes and said, Tell me, May I have a little gift of rice ?;For a moment, the beggar didn’t understand what the emperor had just said The Emperor motioned to his bowl with some rice, urging him on ,’Can you, please spare some grains of rice ?’The beggar could barely believe what was happening The beggar took the bowl and stared at the little rice he had . Then he counted out five grains of rice and dropped them into the hands of the emperor. The Emperor thanked him and went on his way. He became confused, hurt and angry. That night, while he was cleaning rice, he noticed something glinting in his bowl .and found a tiny gold nugget. The gold nugget was enough for him to buy him a few months off the street. When he searched his bowl again, he found four more pieces of gold nuggets inside his rice bowl .-one for each grain of rice he had offered the emperor.
