Once upon a time, there lived two brothers who lived on adjoining farms fell into conflict. There was a serious rift between them in 40 years It began with a small misunderstanding, and it grew into significant differences, and finally it exploded into an exchange of bitter words followed by weeks of silence. One beautiful morning there was a knock on John’s door He opened it to find a man with a carpenter’s toolbox He said ‘i arm looking for a few days work. Could I help you? ‘Yes, said the older brother.’I do have a job for you. Look across the creek at the farm. That’s my neighbor .last week there was a meadow between us, and he took his bulldozer to the river and now there is a creek between us. I want an 8 feet fence, so I won’t need to see his place anymore. The carpenter said ‘, I can understand the situation. Show me the nails and the post hole digger, and I will be able to do a job that pleases you. He helped the carpenter get the materials ready and became off for the day. The carpenter worked hard all that day. About sunset, when he returned -his eyes opened wide, his jaw dropped. There was no fence rather It was a bridge -a bridge stretching from one side of the creek to the other .-his younger brother was coming across, his hand outstretched .’You are quite a fellow to build the bridge after I have said and done ‘the two brothers stood at each end of the bridge and then they met in the middle taking each other’s hand . They turned to see the carpenter hoist his toolbox on his shoulder’Wait, stay a few days I have a lot of other projects for you’said the older brother .’I had love to stay, but I have many more bridges to build.’ Every day, we have the choice of building fences or bridges, one leads to isolation and the other to openness The other side of the wall -There lived a young woman who took great pride in the growth and the care of flowers in her garden. One day while looking through a flower catalog, a picture of the plant caught her eye. She had never seen blooms on a flower like that before. She planted it, It grew with beautiful green leaves, but there were no blooms She continued to cultivate it, water it, feed it, but it was to no avail. One morning weeks later, she was giving considerable thought to cutting it down. It was at this point that her invalid neighbor called over to her. Thank you so much. I have enjoyed the blooms of that vine you planted ‘She saw that on the other side of the wall the vine was filled with blooms. The vine had crept through the crevices, and it had not flowered on her side of the fence, it had flowered on the other side. Moral-just because you cannot see the excellent result of your labor does not mean that it bore no fruit.
